Don't waste the milk
So we’ve all been having allergy problems and colds. Which means we haven’t been drinking as much milk. We all tend to avoid diary cause it seems to cause runnier noses. Yuck! So that means I have a gallon and a half of milk that is about four days after its sell by date and I am afraid about to go sour.

I also need to do a larger shopping trip at Aldi, so I wanted to clear things out of the fridge and pantry that need to be used. This is a habit that I learned from my Mom and I highly recommend it to everyone. I seem to do it about every three weeks. So usually I catch things before they get icky so we waste way less food.

So this is what I made to use up the milk:

Homemade Greek Yogurt. You can find the recipe here.

2 sets of pancake batter. I put them in a ziplock bag and lay them flat in my freezer. I take one of the freezer the night before we want to eat them. Then when I am ready to cook them I cut a small hole in one of the corners and squeeze it out onto the gridle like I’m using a pastry bag. It works really well.

Baked French Toast. The recipe for that is here. Bonus you can use older/stale bread!

I also made homemade cottage cheese. I’ve been using this wonderful recipe from The Self Sufficient HomeAcre.

That used up the milk I had, but some other recipes I often use are.
Sour Milk Biscuits from Nourishing Joy.

Sour Cream from MissHomemade.com

Sour Milk Chocolate Cake from The English Kitchen

What recipes do you use to avoid wasting milk?
